helga treichl hospiz

roses and other secrets

last year, the actress brigitte karper, wife of “jedermann” peter simonischek, gifted us with a truly special evening, as if conjured into our home. alongside the poetic images of roses and other flowers by the internationally acclaimed painter frank glanz, she performed her own reading version of “the little prince” by saint-exupéry, together with percussionist ingrid oberkanins. at our hospice, this version was tried out for the very first time.

at her suggestion, we transformed the helga-treichl-hospice into a fragrant, colorful rose paradise with hundreds of roses and rose petals. “blumen horn” and “blumen astrein” gave us great support. the well-known jazz musician herbert berger filled the hospice with captivating soundscapes for the occasion.

everyone who was there still carries the scent in their nose, the images before their eyes, and the voice of brigitte karper in their hearts. from this premiere of “the little prince” in the version of the two artists, a full-length performance has since grown, now enjoying great success in vienna. we were, in a sense, the “midwives” of a lasting and wonderful artistic event.
