between naivism and surrealism
the work of the austrian frank glanz seems to be placed somewhere between naivism and surrealism. the artist invents freely and then combines, in his modular system, humans, animals, and masks, bizarre antiques and odd architecture, mysterious symbols and banal everyday objects. the result, however, is often as frightening as it is amusing.
frank glanz, until december 22, monday to friday from 9:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 18:30, saturday from 9:00 to 16:00 at the murbach gallery, rindermarkt 8.
